South Africa

South Africa are the hosts of the 2010 World Cup and will be under big pressure from their fans to produce some good results on home soil, also major championships do benefit when the host Nation has a good run as it improves the atmosphere around the country. However, that is looking unlikely at this stage as the side have been average at best in their warm up matches and they even failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations which would have been invaluable practice for them.

The side are managed by Joel Santana and are ranked at a lowly No.70 which sums up their recent form but with home support they may well be capable of causing some upsets in their group. The World Cup Odds are telling us that they are set to struggle but they do have some experienced players in their side such as Steven Pienaar and Aaron Mokoena who may be able to lead them to victory.
